Mr. Satan or Hercule (in the Funimation Dub) is the world martial arts champion in anime Dragon Ball series. Actually he is not the main character, but he is an iconic one from this series.
He is not as strong as Z Fighters, but he often gets a very important role in defeating the enemy like Majin Buu and Cell.

1. His real name is Mark

2. He uses his Dojo's name as stage name
Mark is one of disciple in a dojo called "Satan Castle." His considerable power and super amazing luck makes him quickly became world champion.
And then he was called "Mr. Satan" after the name of his dojo.
3. Mr. Satan swore to never fight with stranger again because of Taopaipai
In the past, Mr. Satan and his master made the fatal mistake by making fun of Mercenary Tao at a bar in South City.
As the result, he got very bad injuries, and his master was killed.
Taopaipai is one of main antagonist in Dragon Ball Series when Son Goku still kid.
4. He has won the World Martial Arts Tournament at least eight times
But he only won the titlle with fair battle once. In 7 of the tournaments, his opponent let him win.
5. He won the titlle with fair battle in 24th World Martial Arts Tournament
In that time no one of Z fighters attended the tournament. Most of them was dead and was practicing on King Kai's planet. While Krilin and Gohan was going to Namek.
Mr. Satan won the tournament after easily defeating Jewel in the final battle.
6. He is he the only human-type Earthling who survive when Kid Buu destroy the Earth
When Kid Buu destroying the Earth, Son Goku and Kibito Kai managed to save Mr. Satan, Dende and Bee using Instantaneous Movement to the Sacred World of the Kais.
7. The only human who ever entered the Sacred world of the Kais
Because Dende is Namekian, Bee is an animal, also Son Goku and Vegeta are Saiyan, Mr. Satan is the only human-type Earthling who ever entered the Sacred world of the Kais.
